The Wasson name is synonymous with quality and expertise in Sligo and the North West.
Formerly Plan 4, Wasson Interiors has been a fixture on the town’s historic Union Street for 33 years, where the Wasson family provide advice and expert service on interior design – from curtains, blinds and poles to soft furnishing and upholstery.
Wasson founder James Wasson still leads the family business working alongside his brother Trevor and James’ daughter Juliea. The other team members are experts in window treatments and coverings and have been with the business so long, they are also considered family.
A native of Donegal, James began fitting carpets when he was just 14 before the chance of steady work led him to Sligo town. After a period refining his trade at a local department store, he took the opportunity to start his own business in September 1989.
Opening as Plan 4, the name it would retain until it rebranded in 2022 to Wasson Interiors, the demand for the company’s services led James to ask his brother Trevor to join him as a fitter. Trevor is still hanging curtains with the company, a career that is now entering its 33rd year, alongside fitter Ross Carty.
James’s daughter Juliea, who worked in the store alongside her siblings during school holidays, joined the business in 2017 as its main salesperson.
The rest of the team include store assistants, Tina Sweeney and expert curtain-maker Patricia Mulcahy, who joined Wasson almost 30 years ago.
As well as providing home consultations to homes across the North West, where windows of all shapes and sizes are measured and fitted with expert precisions, we also provide ready-made options and have more than 5,000 samples of curtains alone to view in store.
Our services are also in demand across hotels in the region. Some of the bespoke projects we have completed include the Sligo Park Hotel, The Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Castle Dargan, The Glasshouse and City Hotel.
